How staking rewards work

When you stake TRX, you receive TRON Power — 1 TRX staked = 1 TRON Power. You then vote for one or more Super Representatives with that TRON Power.

At the end of each 6-hour Epoch (during the 6-second maintenance period), TRON distributes vote rewards to all SRs proportionally based on their vote share. Each SR then distributes a portion of those rewards to their voters — the percentage passed on is called the brokerage rate.

The formula:

Your daily reward = (Daily vote pool × Your vote share) × (100% − SR's kept %)

Where:

• Daily vote pool = 128 TRX/block × ~28,792 blocks/day = 3,685,376 TRX/day
• Your vote share = your TRON Power ÷ total network votes
• SR’s kept % = brokerage percentage the SR retains (default 20%)

APY is not fixed

Your actual APY depends on total network votes at any given time. As more TRX is staked network-wide, your share of the pool decreases. Check your SR’s current effective APY on the TRONSCAN SR page before staking.

Finding your SR’s brokerage rate

1. Go to tronscan.org → Blockchain → SR Representatives
2. Click any SR to see their brokerage percentage
3. Subtract from 100 to get the voter distribution rate (e.g., brokerage 20% = 80% to voters)

Most competitive SRs distribute 80–100% of vote rewards to attract voter support. SRs that retain more have fewer voters and may offer other benefits (e.g., project grants, ecosystem contributions).
